The Foundation Latin America wants to spread our message of unity, hope, and compassion. We believe that a single action can make a positive difference in a community, and that collective action can change the world. Through education and action, our team strives to contribute to the prosperity of the people of Latin America.
Here at The Foundation Latin America, we are driven by a single goal; to eradicate the four forms of poverty- Spiritual, Relational, Motivational, and Material. We believe that poverty must be addressed at its roots by building up individuals, families and communities through focused and strategic actions which are specifically designed to strengthen communities and improve quality of life. Latin America has seen great advances in the fight against poverty since 2000. However 30.2% of the region still lives in poverty, and 10.2% lives in extreme poverty as of 2017. The area is also characterized by vast inequalities of incomes and lifestyles.
At this time we are working in Costa Rica because, there has been virtually no improvement in poverty levels over the last 20 years, with approximately 1/4 of the population living in poverty or extreme poverty. Also, it is one of two countries that has seen no drop in income disparity and unlike the rest of Latin America, Costa Rica has experienced a rise in the levels of income inequality. The populations most affected tend to be in the rural and Coastal regions outside of the main metropolitan areas.

We are working do this by partnering with local individuals and organizations who are working to end poverty in their community. We work together and provide financial, strategic, and administrative support to help them achieve their missions of hope and unity. Our partnerships are long-term commitments to work together in order to create self-sustaining organizations which bring lasting change to the community.
Our current partner is Asociacion Tkena in Guanacaste, Costa Rica.
All of our projects seek to bring truly positive change in a community or communities. With each one we hope to start a ripple effect of wellness and prosperity which touches more lives as it grows each day.
SEWING SCHOOLS, LIFE SKILLS, BUSINESS EDUCATION AND OPPORTUNITY
One of the first projects for the Foundation is the sponsorship of Asociacion Tkena - a school & mentorship project in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. The curriculum is designed to give the people of several different communities the opportunity to learn new skills. These skills range from sewing to business and financial management. The class offers them marketable skills and support so that they can define and live their own success. The skills offered give them new tools on their journey towards prosperity for themselves and their families.
The Foundation Latin America's role in this project is one of mentorship and support. We are working hand in hand with the leaders of the Asociacion to help them make their project self-sustaining and self-supporting which will be able to continue to help the communities they serve for as long as the programs needed.
